USS Edson: Grey Ghost of the Vietnamese Coast

Climb aboard the USS Edson to experience life on a Navy destroyer through its 30 years of service along with its transformation into a floating museum in Bay City, Michigan.

Live among the crew of this Forrest Sherman-Class destroyer to get a glimpse of Naval life. See how the Edson played a pivotal role in the Vietnam War, providing gunfire support and earning the nickname, "The Grey Ghost of the Vietnamese Coast."

And follow the Edson into its second life as the retired vessel became the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum. Meet the dedicated individuals who brought the ship to Bay City so visitors could see and touch a piece of American history.
